The Garden
July 19
Tomato plants are really taking off.
The ones we started from seeds I separated and can go on their own now.
The bell pepper plants have their first baby peppers.

First Zucchini and green bean picked! I
also picked a couple peas this week but didn't photo.

All the plants are really taking off.
The lettuce and green onions are ready to harvest.
Green beans will be ready probably in a week and there are a lot of sugar snap
peas!

July 12
We have our first veggies! 3 pea pods, 1 zucchini, and a few jalapeno peppers. So excited!
July 5
The weather is starting to heat up and the plants
are taking off. Far away view

Asparagus, zucchini, squash, cucumbers
beans, peas, lettuce, tomatoes

and the never ending supply of rhubarb - view after 3rd time picking it
For awhile, the peppers weren't growing so I supplemented 3 from the nursery.
The others are still slowly coming along.
I also bought a basil and oregano plant and of course the week after I did this
they took off. I caged the tomatoes this weekend.

The first flower has finally bloomed. I
read that you are supposed to start flowers inside in Feb.
Oops! No wonder ours aren't there yet! Good to know for next year.

June 18
We decided to plant the rest of our
indoor growing plants: the herbs, peppers, tomatoes and flowers.
Their growth has stalled so we're hoping the outdoor soil and sun will help.
None of the perennial flowers took off, but a lot of the annuals did. Enough to
fill our front 3 areas.
I cheated a little and bought 3 cilantro plants. Also Mom & Ron gave me
mint and chives.
The rhubarb continues to go crazy.

May 25
Not sure what week we are on now. We planted the
beans, squash, and cucumbers into the garden before
we went on vacation for a week. Not the best idea. They need a little more TLC
than that since they were
all dead by the time we got back. The weekend after we got back we started over
and planted the garden with fresh seeds.
Within a week most of the seeds had sprouted!

Week 6 (April 28)
Had to support our bean stalks because they were getting
so tall. The squash is vining everywhere.
I thinned the flowers a bunch. We also finally got our outdoor garden ready and
planted the asparagus.
The rhubarb from the garden last year has come up and is rapidly growing.
Week 5
I guess I forget to take pictures this week. I
transplanted the cucumbers and the rest of the squash
to bigger containers. I also planted the 3rd flat with watermelon,
different basil, more cilantro, peppers, and new flowers.
Week 4
Lots more growth this week! All of the flowers have
finally popped up.
Squash is starting to vine. Cucumbers need to be replanted soon.
Week 3
The peppers have popped up this week and everything else
continues to grow.
The bean stalks are so tall I think Jack will be coming to climb them soon.
More of the flowers are coming in.
Week 2
This week I removed the covers from both flats and removed
them from the warm floor.
The green beans sprouted, went nuts and had to be replanted. I am already seeing
little bean shaped pieces on them.
The cucumbers popped up too but not as quick. Almost all of the vegetables are
up minus the peppers.
Only one of those has sprouted. The flowers are slower growing but were still
thinned.
Week 1
This is the growth after one week.
The squash has already out grown the little holders, so I had to transplant them
into bigger containers.

Planting
We planted2 containers worth of seeds.
One with veggies/herbs and another with flowers.
